Though children are young, energetic and full of life they are not immune to nutrient deficiencies. Children grow so quickly that it is difficult for them to consume the needed nutrients. Unfortunately foods today don’t have the amount of nutrients they once did. Fruits and vegetables which symbolize the ultimate “healthy food” have lost much of their nutrient content and due to today’s farming methods. However, many children may actually be able to prevent the development of these conditions by supplementing with the nutrients needed for proper development. Lack of proper nutrition plays a significant role in the development of chronic diseases as an adults. Nutrients found in our foods provide us with the building blocks for our bodily systems and without them our systems are unable to function properly. For this reason the importance of childhood supplementation should never be underestimated.
Some of the possible warning signs that your child may not be getting enough nutrients from their diet could be:
- Difficulty concentrating
- Irregular bowel
- Chronically ill
